Windowseat.

‘Windowseat’ is personal developmental project where I better acquaint myself with Adobe After Effects animation, UI wireframing in Figma, as well as Swift, a powerful and expressive language developed by Apple to build their own software. I’m building my app around the Google Maps, using Swift to seamlessly incorporate my desired functions into the preexisting GPS system.

In planning the application I’ve tried to keep its functions relatively simple. It’s principle use is to store user profiles, create and store posts (with dates, descriptions, comments, likes, and GPS coordinates), and display all of this in a compelling, intuitive interface.

The app itself, ‘Windowseat’ is about ambiance, great places to sit and ‘take it all in’, it’s about people watching it’s about an appreciation for the human experience – it’s making up a story about someone you see walking by a cafe window, wearing a funny coat and glasses. You can think of it as akin to a birdwatching app or an app for finding skate spots because it’s a GPS-based, user-powered. Users will post and share ‘Windowseats’ to an interactive database/map, visible to other users to like, comment upon, and visit themselves…

Keep in mind that this project is somewhat unserious and more about my learning journey. There are a lot of things that might not work about this style of app in practice.
